Finding Relationship Balance Can Be Hard, but it Doesn’t Have To Be

Maintaining a balanced life is becoming increasingly more important for your personal health and well-being in a fast-paced, modern world.  This can be difficult to achieve in a busy family or in a high-pressured job, or whether seeking a new direction.  What Matters Most?  There is no right or wrong answer to this.  It is especially important not to compare yourself to others.  I can help you find what matters most by building your Life Map or your Relationships Map – you will then see where to put our focus, what, and who can help you achieve the balance you seek.

My Approach

My approach is to personalise support to your needs.  I like to balance this with accredited interventions including Parenting Packages, Goal Maps or Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques.

This can be delivered as a one-off support session or a series of sessions.

My Process

I spend time talking about where you are now, what are you hopes and dreams for the future.  Once we have a goal in mind, we can plan your journey and support sessions to take you there.  This is a personal experience and I like to work on a one-to-one or a single-family basis to match support to need.

Unique Framework

What is unique is my holistic approach as finding balance and support for parenting often involves working on relationships and managing stress and having a clear vision of where you want to be underpins this process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn How it Works!

Can you praise a child too much?

No, praise is the magic ingredient in relationships.

It is a powerful way of encouraging children, helping them feel good about themselves.

If the praise is genuine and balanced with clear boundaries and fair penalties when they choose to behave poorly.

We all need to feel appreciated for who we are and to feel competent and believe that we can do things.

How do I set boundaries?

Boundaries are an important part pf setting limits.

They need to be easy to explain and understand.

Start by working on boundaries as a family

Decide how you want to feel at home

Identify any issues that get in the way of good feelings

What rules (said and unsaid) do you currently have & how well do they work?

Be realistic about what you want to achieve

Set 3-4 Family Rules with rewards and penalties

Try to be positive – Dos work better than DON’Ts

How can I communicate with my teen?

Choose your time

Find a common interest to talk about

Share something about yourself

Communication Is 2-way so Listen

Do something together preferably side by side as face to face is confrontational

What can I do to de-stress?

It’s easier to think of things that help you to de-stress when you are calm

Know your triggers so you can be prepared

Have a support network of people to talk to

Have a relaxation script to follow or listen to

Develop positive ‘self-talk’

Listen to music; exercise; have a bath; get outdoors; bake; talk to a friend

How can I be more effective in reaching my goals?

Set Goals that are meaningful

Take time to relax, ponder or meditate and feel what is important to you

What do you want – write all these dreams down

What is the main goal

Why do you want it

When do you want it?

Who can help you achieve it?

How are you going to achieve it – break into smaller steps

Now add pictures to those goals in a Dream Board

How do I find more time?

Be realistic – what do you want to achieve this week?

Write in a diary/calendar the things that MUST be done

Now look for the nooks and crannies that you can fit other activities into.

Colour code this – e.g., Blue for Work; Pink for Family; Green for Hobbies; Yellow for Me-time; Orange for Church; Purple for Study etc.…
